I'm always a fan of those D&D/tabletop game stories where a completely ridiculous plan actually works. A dragon is threatening to destroy a town? Appease it with cattle, gold, a song done in its honor, and carving the lyrics to said song in a golden slab! Need water to give to a statue, but it's all been taken away by fae magic?
